  • Krakow Photomonth mentioned as one of the 10 must-visit photography festivals in Europe in 2019 according to Contemporary Lynx

  • Rune Peitersen describes the festival as very well curated, thought through and professional in dealing with serious and relevant topics. He found it to provide a good image of the current movements in photography, defined broadly, and the effects these movements can have. He was also delighted to get the chance to meet many colleagues, which he had previously only known through their work.

  • For me Krakow Photomonth was a transformative experience both personally and professionally. This was due to a team that was as professional and engaged as it was humane and warm-hearted in welcoming myself as well as all the artists and collaborators involved. Krakow Photomonth definitely helped to form my career as a curator at an early stage. As an internationally highly valued festival, it has the perfect medium size to foster a focussed range of activities and to present state of the art projects without being too large, generic and anonymous—or too small to present a coherently themed line-up of exhibitions.

Lars Willumeit, independent curator, writer, and photo editor; guest curator of Krakow Photomonth 2016
  • Working one to one with a curator was an invaluable opportunity. It is rare to experience such a collaboration in the OFF part of an international photo festival. Working with a great team of professionals, incredible human beings and hard workers. The organisation was spectacular all over the process and I felt straight away on ease and at home. Knowing more about the practice of the other photographers, likewise for meeting new artists in person and having the chance to confront and contrast our respective artistic processes.
